LORECAST — ROUTE 66: A CENTURY OF STORIES Editorial preview · Collection premieres November 11, 2026 SHORT DESCRIPTION Twelve places. A hundred years. Lorecast's forthcoming Route 66 Centennial collection brings short, source-linked audio stories from Chicago to Santa Monica to listeners wherever they are. EDITORIAL DESCRIPTION A motel designed around the automobile. A cafe rebuilt after a fire. A carousel building older than Route 66 itself. For the road's centennial, Lorecast brings together twelve short stories about places along its route, ordered westward from Chicago to Santa Monica. Each story pairs English audio with a readable transcript and historical source links. Listeners can choose a place without sharing their location and download the collection for offline listening and reading. The complete collection takes about ten minutes, making it an introduction to the road as well as something to take along on a trip. The established synthetic narrator Miles reads the collection. The scripts were reviewed against their cited sources, and the developer listened to all twelve recordings before accepting them. Lorecast is made by independent developer Stanislav Karas. WHY LORECAST EXISTS Lorecast began on a drive from Tennessee to Texas. Bored behind the wheel, independent developer Stanislav Karas started asking an AI assistant about interesting places nearby. The discoveries made the journey more engaging, and he came home with an idea: an audio guide that could tell the stories of ordinary roads as well as famous ones. That broader coverage is a long-term ambition. Today, Lorecast starts with selected routes while Stan tests whether travelers want the experience. Route 66’s hundredth anniversary inspired him to make its region free and create this twelve-story collection: a small invitation to look more closely at the places along the Mother Road.
