Small stories. A long road.

There’s more to a place
than its name on a map.

A motel built around the automobile. A cafe rebuilt after a fire. A carousel building older than Route 66 itself.

Lorecast’s forthcoming Centennial collection brings together twelve short, source-linked audio stories, from Chicago to Santa Monica. Listen from home, save the collection before a trip, or follow the text and explore its sources.

Blue Swallow Motel.

How an architectural detail tells a story about the road.

Miles is Lorecast’s established synthetic narrator. The audio sample is taken directly from the forthcoming collection.

“At the Blue Swallow in Tucumcari, even the car had a place beside the room.”

From the collection’s original script. Historical source: National Park Service.

From the developer

It started on a drive
from Tennessee to Texas.

Lorecast began on a drive from Tennessee to Texas. Bored behind the wheel, independent developer Stanislav Karas started asking an AI assistant about interesting places nearby. The discoveries made the journey more engaging, and he came home with an idea: an audio guide that could tell the stories of ordinary roads as well as famous ones.

That broader coverage is a long-term ambition. Today, Lorecast starts with selected routes while Stan tests whether travelers want the experience. Route 66’s hundredth anniversary inspired him to make its region free and create this twelve-story collection: a small invitation to look more closely at the places along the Mother Road.
